TERRORIZER
KNUT
"Challenger"
Hydra Head

Hailing from the land of cuckoo clocks, Celtic Frost and army knives (and chocolate - glutton Ed), Switzerland's Knut have whipped themselves to a frenzy for this first full-length "proper". "Bastardiser" was a pretty cool record, but didn't quite hit the right buttons in the right order; the "Untitled" EP was a step further in the right direction, but was still slightly inconsistent. "Challenger" however sees Knut jump double-footed on top of the noisecore hierarchy.

Last year Converge reinvented themselves, and conjured the proverbial rabbit from the hat with "Jane Doe", this year it seems like Knut have undergone a similar renaissance with "Challenger". Sounding like the Hydra Head back catalogue being played at the same time in the same room, it resonates with venom and bile. From the opening crackle of "Whacked Out" to the epic closure of "March" you'll find yourself sporting a similar face to when you first heard "Jane Doe" or "We are the Romans". The warm production allows every nuance and flash of brilliance to shine through perfectly. This is sharper than any Swiss Army Knife.
