CMJ NEW MUSIC REPORT
KNUT Bastardiser

Argh!!! Knut's Bastardiser was recorded back in 1997 and subsequently released overseas, but it's finally become available in the United States thanks to Hydrahead Records, a consistent crowd-pleaser for fans of radical metalcore. Knut hails from the nice, neutral country of Switzerland, but Bastardiser revolts and screams "Anarchy" with its Coalesce-style, mathematical, mid-tempo trigcore. Keep in mind that the album is four years old and hatched just as this style of music was taking off before you start thinking, "This sounds like a tamer version of the American metalcore that I know and love." Beat your listeners into submission with "The Whip," "High/Low" and "Crawling On All Fours."
