swiss band knut is back again with this brutal nine song album out on hydra head/chrome st. magnus. to me, this band represents the kind of hardcore music i love. totally punishing and angry, with tight rhythms and amazing guitar tracks. this album is complete tough ass hardcore to the max. some of the rhythms and grooves in the songs that will send shivers through your spine. this isn't just angry and frustrated music. it displays wonderful musicianship and it shows that there are a lot of bands out of europe that can deliver some really good music. i couldn't stop telling you about how surgically precise every note from every instrument is.
this is another one of hydra head's many great releases this year, and now that cave in is signed to rca, i have a good feeling that bands like knut that are signed to hydra head and chrome st. magnus are going to take the helm that cave in left and take extreme music to places never dreamt of. this is a definite must-have in your collection. it won't leave your cd player for at least a week.
